A modern Fuse box is also called a ‘Consumer Unit’. The Fuse box controls all your home’s electrical circuits i.e. Sockets and lighting. There are Mini Circuit Breakers (MCBs) and Residual Current Device (RCD) protection in the new Fuse boxes instead of the old rewirable fuses, which need to be working properly to prevent electrical faults. This makes the Fuse box more efficient and compliant.
